As a wife, mother and business owner, life can get busy. There are moments when rest is not a priority and eating a well-balanced meal is optional. When invited to certain events, I often must negotiate between home life, work or play; of course, I choose the latter. Jesus, the busiest man to walk this earth, never missed the opportunity to pray. Days before He was scheduled to go to the cross, Jesus stopped by the Garden of Gethsemane to spend time with God.
How many times have you by passed the opportunity to pray by choosing to tend to the things of this world rather than spend time with God? In order to have a strong relationship with the Father, it is a must that we take the time to commune with Him. When was the last time you gave God the most precious moments of your life? Those moments where you have a million things to do but you stop in the middle of your chaos just to give God some quality time. I’m talking some real time here ladies, not just two or three minutes to tell God your demands, but time spent in His presence to prove to Him that He means the world to you.
Prayer is a necessity. Just as food is important to the body, so is time spent in prayer with God. Going days without prayer stifles spiritual growth and leaves you open to attacks from the enemy. Like Jesus, we must find time in our busy day to get to a quiet place and spend time with God. Even if it means getting up before the dawn of day, be intentional about giving God your best.
Prayer: Forgive me Lord for the times I chose the things of this world over you. As Lord and Master, you are my first priority and nothing should take precedence over you. Moving forward, I will make you the first fruit of my day so I can bask in your presence and feel your power rejuvenating my tired soul. Amen
Scripture: The next morning Jesus woke up very early. He left the house while it was still dark and went to a place where he could be alone and pray. Mark 1:35 (ERV)
